For the first time in the city of Shusha, a medical conference was held!
On July 30, 2022, a medical conference titled “Patient Evacuation and Emergency Surgery in Mountain-Field Conditions” took place in the city of Shusha. The event was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Union of Territorial Medical Units Management (TƏBİB), the Public Health and Reforms Center, Referans Medical Group, and Uptodate in Medicine. Around 120 specialists participated in the event.
The conference began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Under the leadership of the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief, the brave Azerbaijani army demonstrated heroism and high combat spirit, liberating our lands from occupation and enemy oppression. The important role of professional doctors and other specialists, who from the first days of the war provided medical assistance alongside soldiers on the frontlines, was highlighted.
During the conference, participants of the Patriotic War shared their valuable experiences.
The professional doctors’ presentations covered the following topics:
• Use of first aid methods to determine the mechanism of injury
• Features of pre-medical care in case of man-made disasters
• Principles of treatment for respiratory tract injuries and cardiac arrest in mountain-field conditions
• Diagnosis of life-threatening trauma-related conditions
At the end of the event, commemorative plaques were awarded to conference participants.
In the afternoon, participants visited historical mosques and monuments in the city of Shusha — the cultural capital of Azerbaijan.
