Which Patients Are Eligible for Bariatric Surgery?

Bariatric surgery can be performed on individuals with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 35 and 40. If the BMI exceeds 40, surgery is strongly recommended immediately.
Before the surgery, the patient undergoes an examination to check for any endocrine or psychological issues, as well as an assessment of their adherence to dietary recommendations. If no other problems are found and the patient suffers only from obesity, the surgery can be performed.
