29 Years Since the Khojaly Tragedy...

  • On February 26, 1992, Armenian armed forces committed an act of genocide in the city of Khojaly, which had a population of 7,000. During the Khojaly genocide, 613 people were killed, and 1,000 people of various ages were left disabled due to gunshot wounds sustained during the tragedy. Among the victims were 106 women, 63 children, and 70 elderly individuals. Eight families were completely wiped out, 25 children were orphaned after losing both parents, and 130 children lost one parent.
  • On the night of the tragedy, 1,275 civilians were taken hostage, and the fate of 150 of them still remains unknown.
