The Date That Changed the Calendar — November 8 — Victory Day

  • The Patriotic War, which began on September 27 and lasted for 44 days, became the brightest page in our history, a source of pride and honor for the Azerbaijani people. The people of Azerbaijan, united around their leader — the victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev — demonstrated their strength, resilience, and fighting spirit to the whole world. According to “Qafqazinfo,” the determination and will of the Azerbaijani people, their economic power, modern army building, and the unity of the people and government were important factors that ensured our victory.
  • Inspired by the rich history of state-building and military glory of our ancestors, the Azerbaijani people wrote another glorious heroic chapter, proving to the world that they are a victorious nation, having achieved a historic victory over the enemy.
  • In this victorious war, alongside the army, our medical workers fought shoulder to shoulder. Hundreds of our doctors and nurses voluntarily joined this war, risking their lives, working under bullets and shells, to bring wounded soldiers back to life and minimize the number of casualties.
  • On Victory Day, November 8, some doctors from “Referans Medical Group” who participated in the Patriotic War shared with us their memories, unforgettable moments, and heroism they are proud of. We also want to share these memories with you.
