November 12 — Constitution Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan!

The first Constitution of independent Azerbaijan was adopted on November 12, 1995, through a nationwide referendum under the leadership of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. When speaking about this, Heydar Aliyev emphasized:
“We must prepare such a draft and adopt such a Constitution that will ensure long-term stability of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan based on democratic principles, and will become the Basic Law, a historical document. The separation of powers — the highest executive authority, legislative power, and judiciary — all of this must rely on the will of the people and be ensured through elections.”
